Rotating Head Tooling

Upper punches with rotating heads allow the head of the punch to rotate individually of the punch body. This results in much improved wear resistance as the punch head is not forced around the upper cam tracks as is usually the case with using shaped or multi-tipped punches with fixed key positions.

The rotating head design allows the press to potentially run at higher speeds as there are less forces at work between the punch heads and cam tracks.

Consequently less wear is likely to result to both punches and also cam tracks.
